Request a Gato Website
Please read the following before requesting a new Gato website:
- Gato websites are only available for colleges, academic departments, centers, institutes, and non-academic services and administrative departments. Special projects, like grant-funded initiatives, may be approved on a case-by-case basis. We are unable to accomodate student organizations, individuals, or instructional websites; WP Personal Websites can be used in this case.
- Requests for new websites need to be approved by the site owner. If the request is sent by someone who is not that person, ETC Support will verify the request with them before proceeding.
- Everyone you wish to have edit the new website must have attended at least Gato I training.
- If you have an existing website and wish to redesign it using a sandbox site, please use the Sandbox Request form.
Your Parent Organization is the school, college, or office that your group reports to. The parent organization of Biology is The College of Science and Engineering. The parent organization of Campus Activities & Student Organizations is LBJ Student Center.
The Site Owner oversees the website and may be contacted by ETC Support with site governance questions. This role is not typically filled by an editor, but can be. The owner is usually a department chair or the head of the organization.
The Site Manager approves new user access requests and receives the nightly Link Checker report. This role is typically filled by an editor, though there are some managers who do not edit.
