Recommended Photo Sizes

Using a consistent size for all images on your web site creates a more put-together and polished look. The following sizes are what we currently recommend for  photos on your site.  All sizes are in pixels.

• Banner Images: 550 x 160
• Photos on a web page: 150 x 150 (large), 75 x 75 (small)

Remember that the Image Gallery will resize your photos for you.

Online Photo Editors:
There are many free online photo editors that allow you to upload and edit a photo from any web browser without having to buy software. The downside is that it can take a while to upload a large photo, especially if you have a slow connection to the Internet. Here are two easy-to-use online photo editors.

• SnipShot
• Pixenate

Free Image Editors:
If you have a slow connection you might prefer to install photo editing software on your computer. Most MACs and PCs come with some editing software, but more fully featured software is available for free online. Here are two that come well recommended if your budget does not allow you to purchase Photoshop.

• PC Image Editor (PC)
• ImageWell (MAC)

Photoshop Tutorials:
Photoshop is the graddaddy of all photo editing software. There are man videos, books, workshops, magazines and web sites dedicated to helping you get the most out of Photoshop. Here are just some of the kinds of things that are available.
