Add Files

An Asset in Gato refers to a physical file that you upload to the Digital Asset Manager (D.A.M.), and can be linked or displayed on a Gato page. Assets can be a variety of file formats such as images, PDFs, and more.


Add a file

  1. Click the More icon which looks like a series of three dots at the top of your screen.
  2. Click Assets
  3. Click Upload Asset from the menu on the right.
  4. Click Select A File to Upload drag/drop the file into the Media area
  5. Enter an optional Asset Name for the asset that will be used for organization purposes and visible to you in the DAM.  By default Gato will use the file's name if no title is given.
  6. Enter an optional Title for the Asset. This can be different than the Asset's name and will be visible to you in the DAM as well as end users.
  7. Enter an optional Subject of the asset that will be displayed to users
  8. Enter an optional Description of the asset that will be displayed to users underneath the asset in the Download content type
  9. Click Save Changes

Add multiple files at once

Editors are able to add multiple files at a time by uploading a .zip file.  The .zip file can contain multiple documents and even folders.

  1. Click the More icon which looks like a series of three dots at the top of your screen
  2. Click Assets
  3. Click Upload Zip Archive from the menu on the right
  4. Click Select A File to Upload or drag/drop the file you wish to use into the Media area
  5. Select CP437 from the Encoding drop-down menu
  6. Click Save Changes
