A website owner:

  • is a full-time TXST faculty or staff member,
  • serves as the head of the organization the site is affiliated with,
  • does not require Gato training (unless the owner will need to edit the website, then training will be required),
  • establishes website managers and can authorize access changes,
  • serves as a point of contact for matters relating to the website, and
  • is responsible for the site and the content on the site.
Only one person can be the owner of a website. Students and TXST guests cannot be owners.
Website Owner Position *
All site owners must be the head of the organization the site serves (or an interim replacement).

A website manager:

  • is a full-time TXST faculty or staff member,
  • requires Gato training,
  • is responsible for website maintenance,
  • authorizes new editors,
  • notifies IT support when an editor needs to be removed,
  • receives nightly link checker reports, and
  • serves as a direct point of contact for all matters relating to the website.
Students and TXST guests cannot be listed as managers.

Each editor requires Gato training before they can be granted access.

Sandboxes can only be authorized by site owners or managers. If you're not an owner or manager, we'll reach out to the documented managers for this site to seek authorization.

As stated in UPPS No. 04.01.06, section 07.06, “Third-party companies hired to work on websites in the CMS must be approved by the committee." The Web Governance Committee consists of the AVP for University Marketing, the CISO, the Director of Mobile/Web Systems, and the EIRAC. Signatures from each member of the committee must be collected before access can be granted.

Additionally, this user must be sponsored in order to receive a Net ID. This Net ID is required for access to both the CMS as well as the online training.
